Watching TV cancellations causing sadness and despair on social media reminded me how wonderful my budget conscious Television choice has been! First, a few TV pet peeves...
Couch Potato Bill of Rights
1. Before launching a new series (especially scifi) a third, trusted, party must be shown the completed last episode...when a network picks up a season they must commit to airing the last episode. (How dare they have butchered Fire Fly! Never Forget!)
2. We can tell the coffee cup is empty! For shits sake put some coffee or at least water in it! If you had coffee in it you wouldn't fling it about or make that hollow sound when thumped on the desk! (NCIS and Castle I am talking to you!)
3. Have you been in a police station? I have never seen one brightly lit, clean, bustling with efficiency..except on Television...where the models apparently retire to work.
4. High School kids played be people obviously older..so not cool. (Loved Friday Night Lights but holy crap half those kids looked 30!) I mean if one were to ogle Taylor Kitsch that would be wrong..right?!
5. Remaking a British show..leave it alone..it doesn't translate..what makes a British show work is the damn British! Don't you remember what we did to Spaced? Just say no!

The move to Florida meant that we had to watch our budget and cutting that huge cable bill was a no brainer. We use Netflix and Amazon Prime ..haven't had cable or regular TV in almost three years. Heck we check out whole seasons of TV shows at the library for free. I don't know what I would do if I had to watch commercials but I don't think it would be pretty. Before beginning to watch a new show we Google it to make sure an ending exists. What a luxury! The only issue? I wanted to express my surprise and shock of the season finale of Supernatural ..problem? It was season 4 in 2008. I can live with that one issue and maybe I will start twitting whatever I'm watching anyway. I was thinking of watching the IT Crowd again...
